385. Sunrise Beach, Mexico

Sunrise Beach was one of the earliest WWASP facilities founded in 1995. It was closed in 1996 by the authorities in Mexico. It was located in Punta Sam, Cancun, Mexico. The managers – Glenda and Steven Roach – escaped the country before charges could be brought towards them.

They later founded Morava Academy located in what is the Czech Republic. It was also raided and again they managed to escape the country before the authorities built a case against them.

It could not have been fun to be there as a teenager.

I can assure you that Sunrise Beach was not a fun place to be = ever. The 2 months that I was there – were absolute hell.
