Nothing much is known about Sorensons Tonga. It was located on an island in the Pacific Ocean. Communication with family and friends at home must have been difficult. To live in another country and deal with an illness at the same time cannot have been fun as a teenager.
379. Santa Rosa Substance Abuse Treatment Center
This treatment center was closed down by the Department of Juvenile Justice.
The cause was concern about problems involving safety and security for the 14- to 18-year-old boys in its program.
It doesn’t sound like a fun place to be as a teenager.

378. Extended Family Services youth center, Spanish Fork, Utah
It is not enough to instruct your employees when you are working with vulnerable children. You have to ensure that the instructions are followed and employees who don’t follow these instructions are disciplined and even fired.
The management of Extended Family Services youth center in Spanish Fork, Utah neglected this and it led to a case where an employee was charged with alleged sexual relationship with two girls. The employee was sentenced to prison.
For a teenager to have fun at a place outside home, structure and rules should be followed. It was not the case at this group home. It placed the girls in danger.

377. Martin De Porres Residential Group Home
If you are not smart people can have sex with you and get away with it. A 15 year old girl with an IQ of 50 has sex other residents in an unsupervised situation. Her mental capacity which on a good day make her decide like a 7 year old made the police let the case go.
It doesn’t sound like a fun place to be as a teenager – especially if you are not smart.

376. Dream House Youth Services, Hogansville
October 2014 an employee was charged with child abuse. The group home previous known as the Center for Creative Growth was known for previous incidents in the past.
It doesn’t sound like a fun place to be as a teenager.

375. LMPD’s Gentleman’s Academy
LMPD’s Gentleman’s Academy is a six-week summer camp operated from Louisville in Kentucky. The targetgroup is male teenagers aged between 12 and 17.
In 2014 two Gentleman’s Academy employees are suing Louisville Metro Police and UofL after blowing the whistle on alleged abuse.
Erica Buckner and Alexis Keen said they were punished after they tried to expose alleged abuse at the summer program for young men. Kill the messengers seems to be the answer in this organization.
It is safe to state that it cannot be fun to be there as a teenager if those who are supposed to look after you are punished if they try to protect you.

374. Circle C Youth and Family Services
A number of group homes were run by the agency named Circle C Youth and Family Services.
In 2014 the police investigated use of violence by employees against the residents. In 2015 a boy died after violence between the residents. The authorities revoked the licences to the group homes.
It didn’t sound like a fun place to be as a teenager.

373. Rights of Passage Living Center group home
October 2015 it was reported that the police had charged the former manager of this group home for rape of a boy. The group home was shut earlier the same year after a boy committed suicide by hanging. The manager has denied the actions he was charged for.
It doesn’t sound like a fun place to be as a teenager.

372. Alpine Academy
Alpine Academy sometime mentioned as Utah Youth Village is located near Erda in Utah.
Recently this facility housed the daughter of a deceased well-known composer and singer whos name we are not going to name due to the privacy of the daughter.
In 2009 a house-parent was charged with various crimes due to his intimate relationship with one of the girls.
In 2011 ran from the facility. She was killed during a police shoot-out involving her boyfriend.
It doesn’t seem like a fun place to be as a teenager.

The new management decided to relocate the facility to Virginia
It didn’t take long before they caught the interest of the local authorities. The police charged several employees in relationship with the incident in the video above. It lead to the closure of the school. Maybe this will be the last chapter in the long history of this school.
