495. Jump Up Internet Rescue School, South Korea
Yet another camp targeted against minors who use too much time on their computers instead of being with their parents who for some reason are not even there anyway was in the media in 2007.
It was labeled as the first but in reality such camps popped up in a lot of countries around that time. The deaths started to happen a year later. Forcing untrained children into exercise without proper medical supervision will kill some and they did.
We got no reports of death in this specific camp but in general they are unregulated and the question everyone ask. Will parents be able to demand the level of exercise of themselves that they put their children up for when they sign their children over to the instructors? Do they even know what they order for their children?
It cannot be fun to be there as a teenager.

432. Pacific Coast Academy, Samoa
No to be confused with the school of the same name used in a TV entertainment serie this school was one of the many scams located on Samoa. As a country Samoa has never shown interest in monitoring such facilities leaving the country to a legacy of housing scam-artists who targeted parents concerned about their children.
The authorities became interested but the money men who ran the facility has not yet been brought to justice.
The videos above says it all. It could not have been fun to be there as a teenager.

393. BDF Boot camp, Belize
The BDF Boot camp located at Camp Belizario in Cayo became center of the news in the country when disgrunted families stepped forward.
It doesn’t seem like a fun place to be as a teenager.

354. Reality Invasion Boot Camp
Reality Invasion Boot Camp became the center of an investigation after the instructors used stun-guns on the children participating in the program.
The case fell in the complicated legal system even after one of the instructors acknowleged the use of stun-guns.
It does not sound like a fun place to be as a child. Normally we only places teenagers are forced to attend but this program have taken 4 years old in.

353. Love Demonstrated Ministries Christian Boot Camp
Tragedy was close to happen when the so-called counselors decided to drag a girl behind a car because she would not participate fully in the activities in this boot camp.
The police pressed charges but the legal system can be complicated so the case got stuck in appeals. At least it led to the closure of the boot camp. What is remaining is that the Charles Flowers is fired from whatever job he might have which includes contact with minors.
Later the pastor became involved in the fight against same-sex marriage. He proclaimed “a divorce between the Civil Rights Movement and the HLGC agenda citing irreconcilable differences.”
It could not have been fun to be there as a teenager.

324. Saving Youth Foundation
Justice finally caught up with the management of a Christian Boot camp in Mobile, Alabama
Years ago we wrote about a similar boot camp also in Alabama called Restoration Youth Academy also located in Alabama. After we wrote about the facility they got some unwanted attention from the local media and they decided to close their operations.
It turned out to be a trick enabling them to open under a new name.
Ordinary families who sought help for their children gave them to people who shackled their teenagers and isolated them in small boxes as punishment being lured by a website promising counseling and therapy.
Fortunately the authorities intervened and several arrests have been made.
It is time that the people behind such scams which includes a history back to infamous places like Bethel Boys Academy etc. can be stopped.
It could not be a fun place to be as a teenager.

304. “Marine Corps” boot camp, South Korea
A lot of high school students were forced through a boot camp program so they could be better students when the new school year should start.
It is quiet normal in South Korea to punish students into becoming more productive using boot camps due to the parents redrawal from the task of raising their children when the challenges occur.
This time some of the students died.
The so-called “Marine Corps” boot camp which borrowed the name from the military but had no ties with any official agency allowed the students to partipate in activities supervised by people not trained for the task.
The result became death. It is an odd kind of culture. In Denmark we know that students become more productive when there is a friday bar on campus where the students can meet and create a social network they can use during their business career.
The boot camp doesn’t sound like a fun place to be as a teenager.

288. Wolfeboro Camp School
Wolfeboro is a primitive summer school where parents can get their children detained at if the child does poorly in school. A former student wrote about this place:
Ugh it was a shit hole. It was this “Summer boarding school” but it was really just boot camp with school mixed in. It was extremely structured and there were no computers or cellphones or anything like that.
Another student wrote:
I went here as a high school student when my parents decided they wanted to punish me. I hated it. Hated, hated, hated it. Hated every moment of it. It’s sheer torture and a terrible place in every way. If you’re parents are sending you here, avoid it at all costs. It is an awful place.
Dr3rdeye (September 19, 2009 at 07:18 AM)
I find it odd that such a place exist when we today are talking year 2014. No computers and no cell-phones outside classes. If my wallet gets stolen I cannot even go down to the policestation and report it. My grandmother tried and she was sent back home to report her crime to the police by computer. Everything is on a computer these days.
It cannot be fun to be there as a teenager.

272. Zhengzhou Boqiang New Idea Life Training School
Zhengzhou Boqiang New Idea Life Training School has marketed itself as a cure against the so-called Internet Addiction Disorder, which was introduced as an illness after pressure from the troubled teenage Industry so they could get more clients.
The methods to cure this so-called illness is punishment, isolation from peers and family and if it doesn’t cure the illness – pure violence.
A 19 year old girls lost her life at this boarding school may 2014.
It is safe to say that it is not a fun place to be for a teenager.

223. Thayer Learning Center
Thayer Learning Center was a boot camp styled boarding school located in Kidder, Missouri.
The school put the students through various exercises and the days were very structured. The exercise was soo strict that a boy died and other parents filed lawsuits against the program, which they hadn’t checked enough before they sent their teenagers to the program.
In the end the school had no choice but to close.
It didn’t sound like a fun place to be as a teenager.
