Canaan’s Land Boys Ranch is a small so-called boarding school where they use the ACE curriculum. It operated for some time without proper paperwork, but in Montana there are not a lot of consequences by doing this. The manager – JR Thompson – known from the bizarre events at Blue Creek Academy started the so-called school without proper paperwork.
Given the fact that such schools require almost no oversight and given his past behavior, it is safe to state that it cannot be fun to be there as a teenager, not to mention that the curriculum does not count at most universities and colleges, meaning that it is waste of time academically to attend school there.

The Family Bridges workshops are used when one parent is claimed to have alienated the children against the other parent. However in many divorce cases it is not the parent who have the best interest in the children who wins custody in the courts. It is the parent with the most money.
In the case involving the Loudon sisters these critized workshops were used and the children had to endure time in court as they were criminals.
It cannot be fun to be forced to attend these workshops as a teenager when you really wants to be with a parent who loves you.

The Adriel School children with behavioral issues from across Southwest and Central Ohio. Now it lost its license due to actions of the employees.
The authorities has stated that the employees injured some of the children and showed them how to “get high.”
It is not something children who needed care and treatment should be imposed to.
It could not have been fun to be student at the Adriel School.

The Federico Mora Hospital in Guatamala City, Guatemala is been the center of an article made by BBC. It seems that the hospital is understaffed and they drug the patients to keep track of them.
It also seems that there are employees who take advantage of the drugged patients and rape them while they are under influence of drugs.
It cannot be fun to be there as a child.
The John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford is mentioned in an article about two male nurses who took advantage of young teenage patients who were unable to defend themselves while being admitted and under the effects of drugs.
After the first case the administration should have taken precaution to prevent it but it seems that money is more worth than the safety of the patients.
It cannot be fun to be there as a teenager.
Provo Canyon School was founded in 1971. Over the years there have been a number of lawsuits. The system is very strict and today it is mostly known to have been the reason for creating a number of human rights organizations due to former inmates experiences.
It cannot be fun to be there as a teenager.

Oxbow Academy is a so-called Porn School where teenage boys who have been caught by their parents can send their children if the watching of porn is so against the parents strict religious viewpoint that they feel that they cannot get their family life to work again.
The teenagers are restricted from normal Internet use and communication with peers are also restricted.
It cannot be fun to be there as a male teenager with normal physical needs.
Outback Therapeutic Expeditions is a so-called wilderness program operating in Utah. It was founded under anohter name and changed name some years later. The teenagers are forced there. Often they prevent one parent from seeing the children if the other parent has paid for the stay. A father wrote on a meassage board:
My wife had my son kidnapped and sent to Outback Therapeutic Expedition even though I have joint custody. I went to Utah to try to get him back but Outback made it clear that they would require me to file a lawsuit in Utah to get him back. I couldn’t afford to do that. They had cooperated with my wife in hiding him from me in the wilderness and I had no way of finding him.
Outback Therapeutic Expedition knew they were helping to use him as a weapon. There had been no psych eval before he was sent out there, and even when they had one done by their pet Psychologist, the only diagnosis they came up with to keep him was Depression Not Otherwise Specified.
In my opinion, the people at Outback Therapeutic Expedition should be put in Jail.
It cannot be forced to be there and being denied access to a parent.
A former employee – Jason Scott Calder who later was charged with rape, forcible sodomy and forcible sexual abuse had been working at the wilderness program. October 2017 there was no information that he had taken advantage of teenagers at Outback Therapeutic Expeditions but investigation is ongoing.

The number of runaways from the Realations Group Home in Tulsa seems to send a message that there is too many children for the numbers of employees to handle. Many runaway attempts and two death are the result of understaffing.
There are ideas about relocating the facility to the countryside but what should that change? If there is not enough employees at hand the children will still wander off and be killed in the nature instead of the traffic.
It cannot be fun to be there as a child.
Various sources state that is now closed. They were in the media during 2015 because two of the teenagers who were held there managed to run away despite the fact that it is located in the middle of a desert environment.
A testimony was found on Yelp:
i found this review on another site and who ever wrote it said it perfectly. I will tell the truth. i was a resident there and they couldn’t help me and kept all my moms money, no refund. be smart. My mom got me real help after being lied to about just about everything, they are about money! we had on jail scrubs and sometimes slept on the floor, when they can’t control us they put zip ties on us until we chill out. any of my people that were there with me please look me up. We may have a case. make sure your parents walk the facility and ask tons of questions.
Review for OLYMPUS ACADEMY
Do your own homework. Reading the Website is not a way to verify if facility is good or not. Research residential treatment facilities and see what you find. Dont be misled by a third party recruiter. Ask to view contracts made with employees and note job titles each employee was hired as. Verify employee licenses and credentials. Do background checks to make sure each person should be around children, no matter what rank the person is. Ask to view all state inspections, as you have a right to see. Ask to view academic curriculum, books, materials, schedule, lesson plans, assessment guides. Verify therapy sessions. If you still admit child verify weekly work. Verify nutrition and meals being served, including portion size. Verify nutritionists is licensed. The only reason to have only staff supervised conversations with your child, whether over phone or in person, would be if academy were worried something would get out, right? Trust your child. If something doesn’t sound right, it’s probably not. Be involved. Ask lots of questions. Stay on top of insurance billing. Verify who, when, and what medication has been provided, ordered at pharmacy, and if orders refilled are necessary at each time. Verify alone with child the meals they are getting, medication distribution, if letters were written or received, and Stay in constant contact. If you are not from utah, why would you ever enroll in utah? If all the residential treatment facilities sound similar, think about why you needed to look at more than one facility. Trust your instinct. Don’t be so desperate, you avoid what your gut tells you.
I don’t feel I need to say whether or not olympus is a good choice. If you do all your research, which is a lot of work (nothing is too much to make sure your child is safe), you will be able to make your own determination on whether it’s a good fit for your child.
It doesn’t sound like a fun place to be as a teenager.
