470. Island View

Island View was a so-called residential treatment center located in Syracuse, Utah.

There was a suicide at the facility back in 2004 where a 16 year old boy hanged himself.

In the media the facility several times were in the focus as a tool used during nasty divorces where one parent used the so-called therapists to pressure a child to like this parent more than the parent who didn’t have the money to buy the so-called treatment.

Former residents speak of a very structured day with various forms of punishment enforced.

It cannot be fun to be there as a teenager.
