378. Extended Family Services youth center, Spanish Fork, Utah
It is not enough to instruct your employees when you are working with vulnerable children. You have to ensure that the instructions are followed and employees who don’t follow these instructions are disciplined and even fired.
The management of Extended Family Services youth center in Spanish Fork, Utah neglected this and it led to a case where an employee was charged with alleged sexual relationship with two girls. The employee was sentenced to prison.
For a teenager to have fun at a place outside home, structure and rules should be followed. It was not the case at this group home. It placed the girls in danger.
