292. Valley Springs Youth Ranch
Valley Springs Youth Ranch is marketed as a residential treatment center. Feedbacks from former employees as well as former residents do however speak of a peer controlled environment out of control where larger and stronger residents bully those who are not so strong.
Feedbacks from former residents are mixed:
When I was there I was around 9 years old. A staff member named Ron picked me up then dropped me about 4-5 feet off the ground in a laying position. The houses are fly and bug infested. They make it sound ok but it’s not for the sake of your children’s safety do not send them here. I broke my leg there and one time I was violent I could not use my crutches for the rest of they day they made me walk on my cast. Someone stood up for me and they did not listen. This place is horrible.

This is not the place you want to send your kid. Believe me. I went there almost 10 years ago and they are not the fun and loving kind you think. Unless they have somehow change, this place will hurt you’re child or loved ones. Just my opinion from being there.

About 9 out of 10 kids from here ended up dead or in prison before 25. This place hosted some of the biggest nightmares of my childhood.

Late October 2014 a mother called the social services to investigate an incident. Just days later her boy broke his collar bone after a “fall” according to information found on social media websites.
It doesn’t sound like a fun place to be as a teenager.

I have been there. 5 star rating from me. Please call George Becker who has run youth ranches for over 55 years. https://www.vsyouthranch.org/meet-our-staff. He’d be happy to talk to anyone about their programs! 573-269-4291
