143. New Creations Christian Boarding School

Imaging a school where you have to earn the right to everything – including accepting a God not of your choice. As parents we wish our children to find the same God as we do, but what if they don’t? Can we force them? I believe that every person has the right to believe in whatever they do and that is why I don’t believe that it is a fun place to be as a teenager.

Update: The facility will close July 30th, 2016. Rumors speak on an investigation leading to its closure. However on their website a statement speaking of the general condition of lack of Christianity give an rather unclear impression of their reason for the closure.

Hi Everyone, My name is Jonathan and I went to new creations after my father decided against sending me to the first place you listed in the Dominican Republic. All I can say is I still haven’t began to emotionally deal with the torture emotionally and physically I endured there. I would go into detail but its still so painful, I just wanted to see if they got caught by a smarter family than mine. I’m 26 now and it was something like 2005 when I went there and I lived there for 10 months.

I have been on staff at New Creations since 2010 and have not seen anything of the kind. I would not pour my life into a ministry that was not sincere in fulfilling the great commission in a loving caring manner. Any staff that may have been here during your time here are now long gone. I personally am investing my life into these kids to provide them with a new lease on life. The Holy Spirit is present here and the love of God surrounds you. I suggest anyone considering placing your child here to not take someone elses word for what’s going on here, but invite you to come see for yourself!

      *UPDATE*
Though my experience at New Creations was abhorrent & abusive both physically as well as mentally, I’m pleased to say it doesn’t have the control that once gripped my life.
I’d like to discuss a few events that took place during the 10 months I stayed between the years 2003-2004. I warn those who are sensitive to the subject of violence to read at your own discretion.
I arrived at the beginning of the school year after 45 days at the Ridge Creek Therapeutic Camp in Delhonaga, Georgia (since shut down). My welcoming was pretty shocking. As an entry level student, I was quickly educated on what my role, expectations, and privileges were. At entry level you are not Human enough to sit on furniture. You must sit on the floor. I remember refusing to do so and I quickly learned that obstanance was not tolerated. I was “restrained” and placed in isolation for an extended period. After that experience I thought explaining what happened to the upper level staff members may be in my best interest. I was wrong. Once again “restrained” and choked into submission until I became unconcious, but not before being body slammed resulting in several chipped teeth. Interestingly enough the staff members had no educational background in such settings and many had felonies on their record for which they had done serious “hard time”. I can recollect an event that rocks me to this day to think of. Sitting at my desk in the carrols of the dorm an incompetent firearm owner discharged a hunting rifle that nearly struck several students. The projectile lodged into one of the wooden lockers and was promptly removed. You cannot make this stuff up people. I’m pleased to have learned that some have been fired after threats of legal action against the school were made. When a family comes to view the school to decide on NC, strict rules are observed by both staff and students. These unwritten rules are the handiwork of Mr Cummings himself. I must shy away from explaining because it’s too unbelieveable. Moving on, students are required to preform laborious tasks such as mowing the expansive grounds with push mowers. Folks there are acres of land on this property. The equestrian “program” you may have read about is bewildering to me because I only remember ever seeing the stalls of the horses nevermind actually riding one. No child at any level, so far as I’m aware, ever rode a horse during my stay. Cohersion and scare tactics were widly used as another method of control. It is outlined in the handbook that students will lie about what happens there as a way to manipulate the parents into finding other placements. They call this divide and conquer. In reality its a tool the school uses to mitigate any claims of abuse or neglect.
The educational design of this school is such a joke. I cannot believe that it is even accredited in anyway both federally or by the state. Look into the PACE program and you’ll see.
I emplore anyone considering this “school” as a placement for a troubled young person to contact local authorities prior to a contractual obligation.

Jonathan M, Thank you for sharing and I wish we had read that BEFORE we sent our daughter on May 11 , 2016 but I really believe the horror show she went through was for being a voice for all the people abused and to bring this place to accountability. I would love to speak with you, my email is lisainthegap4u@gmail.com and Im Lisa Arquette from Massena NY, the mom of Meghan, if you want to find me on Facebook. We believe this place is shutting down on July 30 because of what happened with our daughter and her exposing the stuff going on to students there to the authorities.

We just picked up my daughter who was molested on her first night there, she ran away the next night to call for help.We immediately jumped in our car to drive 11 hours to get her back after dropping her off 24 hours previous. The staff are liars and they are covering up the abuse that goes on there.Im so glad we listened to our gut and got her out of that hell hole. This place needs to be shut down.

    • Lindsey K. says :

I was sent here too. It is so unbelievable no one believed me in my family or when I came home…
It is so sad that places like this exist. This person is telling the truth

We just read its closing down July 30 and the whole place is being investigated because of the stuff my daughter endured during her 48 hours there before she ran away, and called friends to tell us what was happening there. We had just arrived home in upstate NY from bringing her to New Creations and drove the 19 hour trek home and with no sleep were back on the road by 1 am to go get her after she was violated and ran away…they never even notified police with the huge truckstop abutting the property, my daughter could have been abducted, raped, human trafficked or murdered….What a nightmare, I would love to speak with you if thats ok.My email is lisainthegap4u@gmail.com and Lisa Arquette on facebook from Massena NY, please message me.

I have the ladys number from Child Protective Services who is doing the investigation on this place if you guys want to help expose the evil going on there. My home number is 315-764-5555 Lisa Arquette

  4. Lisa Arquette says :

You all have a story to tell here about what you went through that could help others in many ways, and what you all went through and my daughter, hopefully can help get people prosecuted for what they have done, and have consequences because It boggles my mind how long this place has been torturing people.CPS is investigating, and the bogus explanation for the closing is a lie, when in May Pastor Cummings was talking about the construction project they were doing there and summer camp thing etc. I have a video of my husband confronting him too. He is a shill.

  5. Dana says :

I never went, but my father worked at a nearby hotel. They were always getting getting girls who had run away from the abuse committed by that school. I think by law he had to call the cops and they didn’t care, they would just take the girls back and there was nothing anyone else could do. I cheered when I found out it closed. Hope it burns to the ground.

    • Lisa Arquette says :

Would your father speak with me about his experience with runaways?

  6. former victim, current soldier says :

Systematic abuse went on there. Awful place. Owners should be in prison.
